My Story

My mother will tell you I wanted to be a doctor before I could fully explain what a doctor did. Something in me knew, even then, that I was here to help people heal.

Growing up as a first-generation Haitian-American, I came to understand early that the body holds stories — inherited ones, ancestral ones, ones that don't always have names. That understanding would shape everything that followed.

The path looked different than I imagined. It wound through multiple degrees, certifications, and years of learning — and somewhere along the way, I arrived at the truest thing I know: there is no one path to wellness. There never was.

I began as a licensed massage therapist in 2003, and those early years gave me a foundation I still draw on every day — a deep, somatic understanding of how the body holds tension, trauma, and memory.

But I knew there was more.

In 2009, after nearly a decade of insomnia and every Western medicine solution that wasn't working, I found acupuncture. My first treatment changed everything. The relief was unlike anything I had experienced — and the realization that followed was immediate: I needed to learn this medicine. I needed to share it.

I enrolled at Midwest College of Oriental Medicine and graduated in 2013 as a licensed acupuncturist. Since then, I've been practicing in the Chicagoland area — blending massage therapy, acupuncture, Classical Chinese Medicine, nutrition, and Frequency Specific Microcurrent into a care model that is as individual as each person who walks through my door.

I continue to deepen my training through continuing education in fertility and orthopedics, because this medicine is vast and I intend to keep learning for the rest of my life.

My practice draws clients from across the full spectrum of life. I have had the privilege of working with celebrities, executives, and public figures — and the equal privilege of sitting with everyday people navigating chronic pain, grief, burnout, and the quiet exhaustion of holding too much for too long.

My deepest passion is supporting those living with PTSD and trauma — particularly people working through multigenerational trauma rooted in colonization and oppression. This is pain that lives in the nervous system, in the body's patterns, in the stories we inherited before we had words for them. As a first-generation Haitian-American, I bring both clinical expertise and lived cultural understanding to this work. Classical Chinese Medicine, with its recognition of ancestral essence and the deep channels of the body, offers a profound framework for this kind of healing — one that honors where you come from as part of where you're going.

Whatever brings you here, I will meet you exactly where you are.

I believe that profound healing should never be a privilege. Through First Sundays — my donation-based community acupuncture initiative — I offer accessible care to the BIPOC and Queer communities who are so often shut out of this medicine. No one is turned away. This is not an afterthought to my practice. It is part of its foundation.

"I started coming to acupuncture with Danielle for fertility issues — and success with egg retrievals came immediately after. Then I kept coming because of other unresolved physical symptoms that no doctor or physical therapist had been able to help with. Four months later, my weekly visit to Danielle is the highlight of my week. This practice is healing my body, my mind, and my spirit in ways I never imagined possible."
